When you post, you should tag with your character's name, and include the content of your post (such as "video" or "log") in the subject line of your post. All IC activity takes place on randomizing.
Claimed characters are welcome to make their own posts during the intro week, and any character participating in the meme is welcome to tag them. Also, you can tag on the meme yourself, since your character is allowed to retain memories from the meme, or you can wait until the first "real" scenario starts next on the 17th.
